“Delicioso” Acrylic on Canvas

Over the past few weeks, I have dedicated my time and effort to completing a painting that I began several years ago at an Art Live event. The piece, which I have aptly named "Delicioso," captivated me with its colors that reminded me of sweet icing.

Additionally, the nickname "Delicioso" was affectionately bestowed upon me by a pair of Irish children, further inspiring my choice of title for this work of art.

Tons of New Paintings and lots of New Collages!

Paper Abstract Collages

One of the things that quarantine did to me, was, pushed me into doing abstract paper collages. I couldn’t paint because my studio was being occupied by my office. So collage was the only way I could produce some art.
But I wanted to do something minimal and geometrical. Here are a few of the experiments I’ve been working on.

Quarantine

Hello everyone!
This last weeks have been a roller coaster for all of us. I am finding it hard to concentrate on anything. On one hand, I am enjoying the fact that we are all feeling small, vulnerable and powerless to the forces of nature. Something we humans forget. And this is a good reminder of that. Also, because we haven’t been driving or doing much, we are no polluting the planet. Clearly, our Mother Earth needed a break from us!
On the other hand, I am extremely fearful of this virus and the dark cloud that seems to hang over us right now. But like anything, this cloud is also going to pass! We just need to be strong and make the best out of these difficult times we are all living.
I’ve gone through a range of different emotions this past week. I made a cartoon of each of them.
Enjoy and stay well and safe!
Dilcia

Live Painting

Here is my 4 hour Live Painting yesterday at the Bloom Room SF! I was so super excited to paint after a super stressful weekend. Painting is the best way to break from the human world and fly away to another realm. It only works if you are open to the present and jump to the opportunity to create something new and unique.
